Like Integral Designs, Montane has entered into the business of making eVENT ultralight with the introduction of the Montane Air Jacket.

At 10 ounces (Size Large), the Montane Air Jacket competes with the new Integral Designs eVENT Jacket as the lightest eVENT tops available anywhere. eVENT is well recognized as one of the most breathable waterproof fabrics in town, and we've been waiting a few years for manufacturers to take eVENT ultralight. Thankfully, those times have arrived, and Montane, as expected, is at the forefront of delivering the goods.

The Montane Air Jacket is not 100% eVENT: FREEFLOW(R) Stretch panels adorn the sides and underarms of the jacket to improve articulation and keep the fit trim so eVENT can perform to the best of its ability.

The Montane Air Jacket: One of the lightest eVENT jackets to hit the market in 2005.

Features are not lacking in the Montane Air Jacket:

  • Rollaway hood with wired peak, volume adjuster, and single hand adjustable elasticized face aperture drawcords
  • Lined collar
  • Full length two way water resistant zipper
  • Chest pocket with water resistant zipper
  • Hook and loop adjustable wrist cuffs
  • Adjustable, elastic drawcord hem
  • Drop tail

And don't forget about the Montane Air Pants: 8 oz (size large) using the same hybrid eVENT / FREEFLOW(R) (knee, seat, and inner ankle) construction. They have long ankle zips, stretch reinforcements that offer a great fit, an elasticized waist, and an articulated cut that allows for high-stepping.

Montane recommends these garments for day hiking and biking. We say: GET OUTTA HERE! "These'is backpacking goods for the lightweight fanatic!
