Inov-8 F-lite 300 Shoe (Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2006)

Overview

The f-lite 300 shoe is built on an endurance last as opposed to the performance last of the roclite 285 (see the dispatch on the rocklite for more information). It is more robust and more cushioned than the roclite 285. The f-lite 300 is an ounce lighter per shoe than the inov-8 terroc (my now favorite lightweight backpacking and everyday shoe), but retains the same rigidity and looks to have an equal amount of support and comfort. If you like the terroc, or want to try a lighter backpacking shoe, the f-lite 300 warrants a close look. It has two features that may improve upon the terroc's performance: fascia-band technology (see the rocklite 285 review for details) and a tighter weave mesh surface fabric with thinner liner fabric that may move the f-lite 300 into the above average category in drying time after the shoe is dunked.
