$467 retail Patagonia Gift Card on 06/09/2014 23:30:02 MDT Print View

I have $467 on a Patagonia e-gift card.

I confirmed with Patagonia that I can buy separate gift cards. So you can pick whatever amount you want on it ($467 and lower as much as I have left). I will take off 30%. So $100 gift card = $70, $200 gift card = $140 and so forth.

I do apparently need to do this over the phone or over live chat with Patagonia, so if it is the weekend I may have to wait until the weekday to get you the gift card.

Let me know if you have any questions.

people have been burned pretty bad here not that long ago, so the pain is still probably pretty fresh.

Have you considered one of those websites that buy/sell gift cards? I've used one a few times, can't remember which, but you get up to 90+ of your gift card value back in cash or as another different gift card if you want.

Just wondering...the whole idea of buying a gift card on an online forum seems kind of risky. What would stop the seller from keeping the codes and just using it right after the sale? I'm not suggesting you would do that, but in general it seems like a risky proposition, epecially with high dollar amounts. Probably why you are not getting any takers. Makes sense for the retailers too as it makes it harder for you to sell the gift cards that they give you when you return stuff.

The seller could use the gift card to buy another gift card and have Patagonia send the code direct to the new owner if I'm not mistaken?

If the card was a bit less I'd be interested.. just don't need that much.

I sold a gift card on here a couple months ago and came out unscathed.

Hi folks,

I give my 110% guarantee that I am not here to rip you off. I have bought and sold a number of items on here with no problems. I understand why some may be hesitant, but you treat me well and I will treat you well too : )

I returned items to Patagonia without a receipt and I received the gift card.

I did look into the gift card buy/sell sites and they were going to give me less than what I am asking for.

Vision Quest - It may be possible to buy an e gift card and have it sent to the new owner, I am not sure. I would prefer to do it all in one transaction to save me time and hassle.

I can Vouch for Cody. Good guy and certainly not trying to harm anyone. I met him last year on the 4th of July when he was thru hiking the Superior Hiking Trail. I believe he even set a record by doing it the quickest.

BTW, Cody... congrats on your engagement!

Cody, I think the main issue is that few people are ready to go drop $650 at one time on Patagonia gear. Maybe if Patagonia split the amount among 2 or 3 cards at lower face values you'd get more interest.

Okay I confirmed with Patagonia that I can buy separate gift cards. So you can pick whatever amount you want on it ($867 and lower as much as I have left). I will take off 30%. So $100 gift card = $70, $200 gift card = $140 and so forth.

I do apparently need to do this over the phone or over live chat with Patagonia, so if it is the weekend I may have to wait until the weekday to get you the gift card.

If someone outright wants all $867, get a hold of me soon and I will sell it for $595 as that would save me some time and effort.

Let me know if you have any questions.

If you look at Cody's profile, he has lots of gear swap posts... very very unlikely to scam you in that case.

The scam that happened here in the past was from a member with only a few posts.
