WTB Ultralight tent, pack, sleeping bag & trekking poles on 04/28/2014 21:20:45 MDT Print View

Looking to buy used ultralight equipment for a 2014 summer through hike of the Colorado Trail, including backpack, such as the GoLite Jam 50L Pack or the ULA CDT. Also looking for used lightweight one man tent such as the LightHeart SoLong 6 or similar one person shelter weighing less than 2.2 lbs. Need a lightweight used sleeping bag, such as the Marmot Helium with a temperature rating to at least 20 degrees. Finally, lightweight, carbon fiber trekking poles.

Hmm, maybe you were asking about the size of the pack, not the body carrying it. I am looking for a pack that will hold up to 50 liters/about 3,000 cubic inches.

Poles on 04/29/2014 08:01:16 MDT Print View

Dan,

I have a set of Leki corklite poles I used literally once. They are not carbon, but they have cork handles, speed lock adjustment, and the quick adjust wrist strap. Each poles 8oz. $105 shipped to you in CONUS.

GoLite Hut 1 on 04/29/2014 08:44:15 MDT Print View

Hi Steve,

I looked up that tent and I don't think that's the model I'm looking for, but I appreciate the lead.

I use a Hut 1 in the colorado rockies and the heavier nylon doesn't mist through at all. It's a great shelter!

GG Gorilla Pack? on 05/05/2014 15:16:31 MDT Print View

Hey Dan,

I have a Gossamer Gear Gorilla pack, medium with a small hipbelt. It's been used on just one, 3-day trip and is in excellent condition. This is the old style from about 2010. I'm 5'6" with a 19" torso, 30" waist and this fits me great. The hipbelt is for up to a 32" waist.

I've been meaning to post to BPL, but haven't got around to it. I'm definitely willing to cut you a great deal.

PM me if you're interested or have questions.

Dave

Sleeping bag on 05/05/2014 17:33:28 MDT Print View

If you want a sleeping bag rated to 'at least 20', I have a Marmot Plasma 15 (rated to 15). This is a solid rating and a super high quality bag with 900 fill power...for comparison, many others are only good to 5-10 higher than publicized by my use/experience. It is like new, only used a few nights. PM me if interested.

Got a pack, still looking for a sleeping bag on 05/07/2014 19:42:01 MDT Print View

I looked pretty hard at the pack you linked to, but went with the GoLite Jam 50 after evaluating both. I'm still looking for a lightweight sleeping bag - not a quilt, and I've changed my temp rating to something rated down to 30 degrees, to shave weight, and I think that will be sufficient for the summer trip in the Colorado Rockies. I may need to find a woman's size bag, since they tend to be shorter, and I'm 5"6".

Thanks,
