Have done some reading on this hike and am planning on trying it. A lot of wading and swimming involved. I read it takes two to four days depending on your physical condition. Has anyone here ever done the hike and how hard did you think it was?

That is a great route and will take 2 solid days for an experienced canyoneer. You can shorten the trip by dropping in at Calloway or Maxwell and coming out of Blodgett Basin off of FR142a. Make sure to spend a little time at Hanging Gardens.

I have seen pictures of the Hanging Gardens and I would love to see them. I especially want to swim the "White Box" and the "Red Box".

If I was to go in the last week of May or first week of June, what would I expect weather wise? What kind of pack did you use and what did you do to keep water out of it or at least your gear dry?

What other gear would you recommend for this kind of trip?

If you go in the May/June timeslot the water will be very cold. Also when on HAZ, look at the Devil's Canyon hike. Its a must!

So a wetsuit would be a good idea at the end of May or First week of June?
