weight? on 03/11/2014 14:17:27 MDT Print View

Going to try to get out to a store today and try on a medium. Do you happen to know what the weight is? (I mean in ounces/grams, not "how warm")

Weight of this item is 7.0 oz on my USPS scale.

This was sold as an expedition weight base layer. It's super warm for my usage.

Also, I don't know if the newer Capilene 4 is identical... from reviews I've read the newer ones have a more open knit to them.

thanks for the reply on 03/11/2014 15:42:22 MDT Print View

Good to know, thanks.

My intended use for it is actually as a light mid layer, so the older version sounds like it would work even better. I fall between a SM/MD in most clothing, and want to go try on a MD capeline top to see how it will fit overtop of my base layer.

Unfortunately I didn't make it in to the store today before work. Will have to try tomorrow

This should fit correctly.

You're correct, it's a good size for me. I'm sorry for the delay, took a while to make my way out to the store. I'm still sussing out whether I need to add another thermal layer for my upcoming trip. Right now, I'm leaning towards not needing one, but if I change my mind, I'll definitely check back and see if it's still posted

good luck with the sale
