Looks like cable tire chain type wire and adjusters. Too heavy, but it is clever.

Talk about seriously overcomplicating a simple idea.

You can buy a <6oz. stainless rectangular grill at just about any Chinese grocery store around here.

I think our own member Mike Moore had a much better design made with arrow shaft, tubing and Ti bike spokes. Sorry I know I could find it but would not know how to put up a link.
