Having a little spare down time in the middle of a Michigan winter (i.e. small sandal orders) and out of necessity, grabbed my wife's sewing machine and taught myself how to sew.
This is super light beanie that is a great EDC item as well as a liner under warmer hats on really cold days. Made a few as a stocking stuffer as well as one for myself. I love it!
(Don't tell my wife I posted this or she'll kill me). The light gray grid fleece on the under side is the same type of fabric used on the patagonia R1 and works really well. It's only sewn as a liner around the ears.
Here is an inside detail shot of the Polartec merino wool/quick dry inner...really wicks quite well, keeps my head dry!
Just thought I'd share! Now that I've started sewing, it's tough to stop coming up with ideas (made some neck gaiters as well as fleece camo hat for the little guy).
