Ok, TT lists the weight as 26 oz. what are people's real world numbers with them? Pre or post seam sealing would be helpful too.

I dunno about the Notch but my similar (oiginal) TT Moment was only 1.5 oz. heaveier than advertised.

My TT Contrail was 0.5 oz. lighter

My TT Scarp 2 was almost 2 oz. heavier

So they are coming in very close to the advertised weight.

I have an incredibly long and boring video on three of the TT solo shelters here :

about 2 minutes in I weigh a brand new packed up Notch at 26.3 oz.
That includes 4x stakes, instructions and stuff sack.
I do a Notch with about 20g of silicone.
The weight can vary one ounce or two from one production run to the next.

After my seam sealing-- probably a little too heavy-- my Notch weighs 27.2 oz, including the stakes. And I measured it on an old analogue scale.

Seam sealed fly with additional (peak) tie-outs - 16.5 oz

As delivered my Notch weighed in at 25.8 oz.

I added:
- Seam sealing and stripes on the floor
- 2 Trekking pole adapters (allows poles to be used handles up)
- 2 triptease peak guyouts
- 4 Ruta Locura 9" carbon stakes and 2 ti shepherds hook stakes w/stake bag

Everything in the supplied stuff sack was right at 29 oz

Thanks for the responses. Mine just came and it seems to be on the heavier side. 29 for tent/mesh inner and stakes, not seam sealed. 29.7 with stuff sack. Seems to be over everyone elses. Not sure if it's worth the trouble to try to exchange it for a lighter one.

Am I being too anal about this?

Anal? on 12/13/2013 08:45:54 MST Print View

I don't know, I think it would be worth asking if Henry could weigh a few and if he has one closer to the stated 26oz, do an exchange.
