In for the Western Box!

I don't see anyone volunteering to start a Western Box?

If someone has started already, say so - otherwise I'll get one together and start tomorrow!

Western Box Start on 08/12/2013 16:31:22 MDT Print View

Okay, I've put together a starting box for the Western States, and will be sending it out tomorrow. It looks like Jeff M is closest to me, so I'll send it off to him.

The box has some old stuff, some new stuff, some stuff stuff, and some funny stuff - enjoy!

If there are going to be two boxes why don't we use the Mississippi River as a dividing line?

I have some stuff ready to add to the box.

Hey Ken

Go to the first post of this thread. At the bottom of the post is a link that will take you to the list. Add your name, etc., then click in an empty box somewhere, and you should be on the list.

Western States PIF box on 08/13/2013 14:05:55 MDT Print View

Stephen,

Thanks for starting the box for the western states. My family has a wedding this week so I wouldn't have been able to get to it until next week or so. I look forward to receiving the box and adding to it when it gets around to me.

The spreadsheet idea is a great one and will be helpful. I am not sure I understand exactly how to use it though. Perhaps a few basic instructions would be helpful to others like me who have never heard of a goggle spreadsheet.

Also, how do we retrieve and post mailing addresses? Are we sending personal messages through BPL?

Good hiking,
Rodney M

Hey Rodney

I PMed Jeff for his address. I think that's what the East coast folks did too, since nothing of that sort appeared on this thread. Someone suggested taking your name off the list once you've received the box.

As for instructions on using Google spreadsheets, I've just learned by trial and error - lots of errors! Maybe someone knows of a web page that has instructions?

Hey Rodney. The spreadsheet works very similar to an excel spreadsheet. Basically, click the link on the first page to open it up in your web browser. Then click in a box under the name column and type your name. Do the same for the username and state columns. Hitting control + s will save the data you enter. Thus far, I think people have just been using personal messages to retrieve mailing addresses.

Great western box! on 08/14/2013 18:28:25 MDT Print View

The western box arrived today. Steve did a great job putting it together! I've added some things and am still digging around for a little more and then I'll get it sent off again.

Victor and Elias, at the end of the first post is a link to a spreadsheet. Add your name, forum name, and state where you live and you'll be good to go.
