PIF - Outdoor Products Trekking Poles (Project poles) on 08/05/2013 13:23:31 MDT Print View

Claimed by Brian Blair.

I wrote an article on how to modify these poles and include hand loops using my methods.

Check this link.

Outdoor Products Trekking Poles (project) 52" and 47" full extension
- One pole is shorter than the other.
- Handles have been removed for an on-the-cheap trekking pole project that I never finished. I have one finished pair, that came in at right under 12oz, if you'd like to see pics and a description of what I did just let me know and I'll help you out.

Mudhole.com has eva foam handles that can be had for around $8 shipped.

a

No return PIF necessary and I'll pay shipping. Just want to give back where I can.

Sorry folks, I forgot to edit the post but I received a PM before both of you claiming the poles.
Keep an eye out, I'll have more stuff to PIF soon.
Cheers,
Dan

Don't know what to do first. on 08/05/2013 14:17:08 MDT Print View

The problem I've found is that it's confusing on how to best respond first - Do you send PM first or reply to ad first? Or not respond to the ad at all? If you choose wrong, you lose. Not a sore loser, but have had it work both ways. So, what's the rule?

@Dean:

Do both -- meaning post a response (hopefully yours is the first one) -- and PM. While posting publicly doesn't guarantee that you are in fact the first -- it does serve notice to others that the item is claimed.

Dan,
I'd be interested in your project and if it differed from this one any.

Michael,
It does differ slightly. I spliced 2 pairs of continuous loops out of dynaglide and one of 7/64 amsteel to make removable straps. I plugged them with cork to give them a nice look. I'll give a write-up as soon as I'm able and send you the link.

If you want an item contact the seller.

If you want to low ball the offer and disrupt a sale, "PM Sent" is the appropriate response.
