Me on a soap box on 07/01/2013 17:55:59 MDT Print View

When I get over enthusiastic about some topic (e.g. tents, wisdom, backpacks, humans, etc.) I often reflect upon it during the night's sleep that follows the episode.

My comments typically match up well with this (badly quoted) quote:

"Tis but a tale told by a fool, full of sound and fury....signifying nothing."

I think I'd be better off writing a blog and then only allowing me to read it.

Instead of yet another hiking blog, how about one centered around the latest CCF fashions?

In all seriousness, I agree. Every time I find myself fired up about a topic and allow myself to get pulled into a heated debate, I later realize that I wasted a lot of time and energy better spent on just about anything else for nothing.

I also agree. It gets very frustrating sometimes, and then I feel silly for having gotten worked up about it when in all reality it was for naught.

One of my favorite politicians had a great line in a town hall meeting once that made the you tube circuit: "arguing with you ma'am is like having a discussion with a table leg."

Sort of like pissing on yourself while wearing a dark suit. You feel warm all over but no one notices.
