Hiknakd Stove on 05/24/2007 08:03:37 MDT Print View

Don't laugh but at first I though the name Hiknakd was that of some high end Norwegian shop.

I am considering the Hiknakd Alcohol Stove Kit. How does this work in relatively cool temps, lower 30's to 50's? Can someone give me a comparison of fuel required? What quantity of alcohol compares to an 8 ounce MSR IsoPro cannister?

BPL did a performance comparision of alcohol stoves and Hiknakd did very well. It tested alcohol consumption results in still and windy conditions. Here's the link

They didn't specifically test in cold weather conditions but ot should work in the 30-50 temp range maybe with a little extra priming. I don't have first hand experience with this particular stove though.
