in the headwaters of the kern

the rod & reel you can see: it's a cheapo 4 piece fiberglass eagle claw pack rod & a cheapo pflueger reel

rod: pack-it series 6'6" 4 piece fiberglass rod

i was using a small jig with a bit of something special on it ;)

couldn't get him to bite anything at all

watched him cruise around like a macy's parade blimp

he was well over 5 lbs but no way to know how big for sure

very, very thick fish
