Plastic Container for Heinie Keg Can? on 05/28/2013 14:00:39 MDT Print View

I need a plastic container to protect my Heinie Keg Can (pot) from damage. Dual use as eating vessel and measuring device would be desirable as well. I've looked all over for the 1L ZL Type, but have not had any luck. Please be as specific as possible, to include brand, size, source, etc.

I never had the need these days to carry an extra plastic vessel with my Keg Can. However, in the past, I have always used the Ziploc brand containers. Have you checked your local Dollar Store for something similar? Or you can get these - http://www.amazon.com/sets-32oz-plastic-soup-container/dp/B004HV0X7S

Look in your local grocery store for pickling/canning salt in the plastic container that looks like this:

Tell them Dan sent you :-)

If you can't find the pickler one try the clorox wipes:

I find this container works better. Weighs a lot less too.

OK, I managed to find the ZL 32 oz screw top containers and they won't work because of the impressed area at the bottom and they're not deep enough. I also found the Clorox wipes and a generic version, but not sure I want to use that container around food/water. No pickling salt of that brand that I could find. I looked at some generic ZL type containers, but all they had was 16oz, so no-go there.

I have also contacted TD and none of their caddies will work either. The search continues!

Don't know how your Heinie compares to my Fosters Ridgeline(Thx Dan!), but I will use either the Caddy Sack of the Caldera Caddy alone depending on what I plan to be cooking.

Caddy Sack:

Caldera Caddy:

I must have the XSML Caddy because it measures 6-1/2" and weighs 69g. My Fosters Ridgeline fits in the this Caddy "perfectly". My stove and all cooking accessories fit inside this can.

If your cooking accessories do not fit inside the can then you may need to get a larger caddy.
