Sold***** Solo silnylon shelter 8oz on 05/18/2013 08:27:34 MDT Print View

I made this shelter last year and never used it as I went to cuben shelters and Mids. It is made of 1.3 silnylon, it has a door zipper and a vestibule in the front for gear. Total weight is 8oz. It cost me about $35.00 to make it, I will sell it for $25 shipped as I would like to see it go to a good home. ***********sold to Anna

I'd love more info on this shelter if you have any build instructions, dimensions, tips, etc. 8oz would be a great biking and backup shelter to the tarp I use.

Fabric? on 05/18/2013 12:44:45 MDT Print View

Can I ask where you got your silnylon material from? Backwoods Dreamers seems like they have nice fabric, but their shipping is rather expensive, even for small orders.

Shelter is sent on 05/18/2013 13:39:43 MDT Print View

The shelter is sent. I took a 65" wide X 3 yard piece of silnylon (bought off eBay) and sewed a triangle on the end, then made the beak out of a couple triangles. The pole seats were reinforced with cordura and seam sealed. I used a YKK #3 zipper. Pretty simple and cheap, just took a long time to make.

Nice job on this shelter. I'm just posting this so it shows up in my profile so I can find it in case I want to try to make it later. Thanks for putting all the pictures on here.
