For sale: older (2008ish) GoLite Jam pack on 04/04/2013 10:03:00 MDT Print View

I bought this pack recently on gear swap. I have too many packs and decided I don't want to keep it. I was told when I bought it that it was a 2008 model. When I bought it, it was listed as slightly modified, but I can't remember what the modifications are (It appears that there were originally anchor points for cinch chords on the side panels of the pack that have been removed). I believe that it is a size large with a large belt. The pictures in the post are of it on my son who is 5'5" tall. It is in overall good condition only showing minor use. I paid $80 for it and would like to recoup my money, but am open to reasonable offers.

New Price $65 shipped.

What capacity is it? 50 Liter? 70 Liter?

If I had to guess, I would say it is in the ballpark of 50L. It was made back when there was only one Jam, not the 50 and 70 like nowadays. It is very comparable in capacity to my SMD Swift and GG Gorilla, which are 3400CI and 3000CI respectively.

I'd say what you have is the original Jam. This was updated to the Jam2, which then became the Jam 50.

If I understand correctly the original Jam had 2750 cubic inches of space which is a bit less then later versions of the Jam.

Here is a link to a review of the Jam2 which compares it to the previous original Jam.

Older Jam on 04/15/2013 20:15:58 MDT Print View

Free bump. I'm surprised no one has pounced on this. For a while older (and lighter) Jams seemed to be pretty in demand.

From the pictures I think someone has removed the side compression straps. Some people would consider that an annoyance, others would not care. I'm guessing you could get some compression from the webbing left near the top. Are there hooks on the bottom? Those would be the "compactor" system if they are there.
