I keep reading information on the internet about the EVA in shoes breaking down. Is there any scientific evidence to support this? I love my Brooks Cascadia 5's, and was looking at picking up several pairs on the cheap. I'm sure many of you have done this--what has been your experience, does the cushiness go away? The shoes are probably about 3 years old now, which means that I'd be wearing them when they are 5 years old or more.
I'd like to see BPL do some scientific studies on trail shoes to help us sort out rumor from fact.
