So, who's got a youngster that wishes they had their own camera so they could take pictures like Mom/Dad?

My daughter always had a camera. Thank heavens for the transition to digital -- she would walk around and just shoot the same thing over and over and over again -- film got kind of expensive. Got her first digital, a Nikon Coolpix 2100 2-megapixel, and shot it for years. I think it was $100 at Costco.

Now she has a decent DSLR and a couple of lenses and I never see her using them. Oh well. She did take a moderately advanced P+S to France for a semester and shot a lot of decent photos.

My kids use iPhones or iPod Touches as their cameras. A couple of them have dedicated cameras but they rarely have them with them so their phones get used more - plus they like sharing photos with their friends on Instagram or Facebook.
