I am in the process of making a TarpTent out of Tyvek, and I wanted to get some opnions on the best flooring material to use WITHOUT also carrying a groundcloth. I am planning on making the floor a sewn in version and I want a completely waterproof floor. I also want the lightest weight floor as well.

My thoughts have been along the following lines:

Tyvek floor, single layer. Question is will the hydrostatic head from kneeling on the floor force water through the fabric?

Silnylon floor 1.1oz fabric. While slipperly will this provide a truly waterproof barrier? Looking at the website from Jim Woods it appears this could be an issue.

Use the coating system that Jim Woods recommends on both the outside and inside of the silnylon. Seems like this would certainly meet the needs for waterproof flooring without the need for a ground cloth, but might be heavier.

2 layers of silnylon or Tyvek for the floor, but then I might as well use a ground cloth.

Suggestions are very welcome.
