Komodo Island for me....not that I am a reptile hater but not the idea of "beaches" and "bikinis" I had in mind...aarrggghh.

David, looks like there's a whole side of you still waiting to be discovered!

Last year, I did a day hike on a small island off Borneo with a traveler from Texas -- and a monitor lizard sprawled itself right across our trail. Texan thought he could just shoo the thing away -- but the lizard wasn't fazed at all -- it hissed right back at Texan, tail swaying back and forth, ready to strike. Luckily, Texan regained his senses, and we both backed off a respectful distance. After establishing who was the real boss, the lizard sauntered off -- in his own good time -- and we continued with our hike.

That monitor lizard was badass. But Komodo dragons are even bigger! I reckon you'll have a good time on their island.
