Thru-hiker among other places. around $30 per 3 oz of 900 FP down.

Wilderness Logics has 850+ down fill for 6.75 an ounce. I was impressed with the quality.

I have read here on BPL that these guys are good with fair pricing and good selection.

Unfortunately I have been unable to get an e-mail response from them. 3 politely worded e-mails over the past 2 months asking for current prices have gone without response. Hmmmmm. Maybe someone else will have better luck.

They do list their telephone number on their web-site, although I have not yet called.

In all fairness, I have not tried calling them.

E-mail, texting and electronic whiz-bangs are not always the best manner of establishing communication.

I actually heard back from Feather Industries this evening. Here is the low-down. (Argh ... Sorry Tim.)

850cu" 90% net white goose (Canadian) = 5.30CAN$ per ounce
600cu" 75% net white goose (China) = 3.06CAN$ per ounce

Feathertex. They don't list fill power but I've heard it's probably in the 700's. $39/lb

I contacted Feathertex about 3 weeks ago and was told the following:

"Our goose down is currently out of stock and it does not look like we will be having much, our suppliers are mostly selling us duck."

" Our goose down is 650 and duck down is 550"

"Zach after checking inventory in the shop it appears both the goose and duck down are out of stock."

That was as of January 28, 2013 so it seems like it is kind of hit and miss with these guys. However, the responses I got were very quick.

I wrangled with Featherind a while back re: getting some down. It was a tossup for me between Downlite and Featherind. At the time Downlite was selling 800 for $80/lb (this was in late July 2012), and I still thought I might get it cheaper at Featherind.
Turns out shipping from Featherind is a beast. If I remember correctly, after shipping their price/lb. is about the same (maybe *slightly* less) than Thru-hiker.
If you want specifics I can dredge up the old email from them, and let you know about shipping. But I'd ask that question before getting too far with them.
After that fiasco, I went back to Downlite only to find that they had bumped their price/lb by 50%, citing a clerical error in their previous listing as the cause for the spontaneous increase.
I think prices are about even across the board as far as price/lb. of a given fill power, at least as far as I found, between Downlite, Thru-Hiker, Wilderness Logics, FeatherInd, etc.

Bloomingdales "My Luxe" down pillows. I have built in radar for them at a garage sale or thrift store. $460 for a soft king size! Some day....
