To answer your question, yes, you need to take a wide-mouth water bottle with a capital "P" marked on the top.

So what's up, Idster--you looking for a date, or do you just want to buy some winter clothing? If it's the former, I know this gal named Laura...just watch your backside, and have her hike in front of you where you can see her. She's nicer than those gay whales that Travis hangs out with.

"I was 5'6"-8" for a while."

I mean vertically, not horizontally......

I am 5'-8" and have skied the Sierra High Route and camped on Mt. Washington in the winter in addition to other winter camping in the Sierras. Is there a question?

"Is there a question?"

Yes, the question I posted in the subject line. That's the only question.

I'm 5'-8" -- and yes, you still have to be able to haul your 6'-0" team mate out of the crevasse...

Yes, you can wear fur-lined undies, but they do not have to match.

I would answer, but can only come up with creepy answers as to why this question would be asked in this way. :)

Does being 5'8" and getting really cold whenever I backpack count? I was acknowledged as the most heavily dressed at the recent GGG around the campfire in ~30 deg F temps (and still felt very cold).

No, I was the gal on Saturday night wearing, um, 5 layers not counting underwear: baselayer, nano puff, thermawrap vest bought on the spot from Mark Verber, Costco down jacket, and windshirt. Windpro fleece hat plus hood from Costco jacket on my head. Softshell pants plus army surplus insulation pants. Wool socks, plastic bag VBL, and finally some chemical handwarmers in my shoes (thank you John Abela!!!). And yes, I was still cold. Sad but true.
