Reminds me of those Duluth packs that people are trying to sell for backpacking.

I'll take 2. One for backpacking, and the other to walk around town with my chihuahua in it. #ULfashionista

David
Don't be so sad.
Just sell one of your McHale's so that you can afford one of these.
In the meantime make yourself a nice cup of hot cocoa, you will feel better.

I like the specs.

Anyway I did not know you felt the need for another pack...

Wool "RICH" Wool on 01/16/2013 17:14:18 MST Print View

Good thing it has an ice-axe loop. Mounted upside-down, you could use it to strap a bottle of Sangria on.

Alternatively, you can attach a pimp cane.

An obvious advantage is that you can use it as a pillow or a foot support at the end of a short mat.
Wool is great, works for everything.
I am going to use wool to make a raft.

Who in their right mind makes a backpack out of wool? Canvas would be 100 times more durable and practical. Hipsters...

*Sigh* Franco, I've already tried many, many times. I've yet to come up with a design that works. But dammit, if they can make several tons of steel float, I'm gonna figure out a way to make a wool raft!

BTW, I hear Burberry is coming out with a line of tents and tarp shelters.

John, that must be a picture from your early adventures in gear making. You're sewing has definitely improved as shown in the packs you've recently made.

Travis,

Yeah the yaks wouldn't cooperate anymore and I had to reduce the size of the tents and the number of poles down to 1 pair of trekking poles.

I even let go of my merino and silk base layer. My nephew is putting them to good use halfway around the world.

Thanks for the kind words about my sewing. I need to get back to it. I hear the feed dogs howling at me as I write this post.

Party On,

Newton
