So my dog pissed all over a spankin' new Western Mountaineering Antelope in Joshua Tree this weekend. I literally pulled the tags off that evening.

The solution is to make sure you smell worse than the bag. Then you won't notice the reek.

Any idea why your pup peed on the bag?

It was snowing outside and my dog was freezing. I let her into the tent, she buried herself in the bags. I think she was too cold to go outside...she's pulled this one at home before; peeing in the house because it was raining outside.
Basically, she's a wimp in cold weather.

I have to say, I'm impressed with the shell material on the bag.
I draped it over a ladder in the backyard and sprayed it with the hose on full pressure. I didn't want to soak out the whole bag as I suspected the pee didn't get through the shell. All the water I sprayed the bag with beaded and rolled right off, even on the inside. I wiped it down and sprayed it off a few more times, inside and out. Been drying in the sun all morning; no smell whatsoever. I was hoping I wouldn't have to soak the down...

K9 version of a laundry marking pen. She'll know who's bags are hers.

Be thankful for small dogs. Imagine...

Hmmmm, I'd be thinking of getting that dog a new home at the pound.

Might try Febreze as well if any smell does linger.

And maybe get her one of those down jackets Konrad made for his pup!

I would wash the bag

Well from this detached view the whole thing is pretty amusing. It's the stuff cartoons are made of.

I can imagine Woofer thinking "maybe he won't notice".

So very punk rock of your dog.

Bottom line is that the dog knows quality when he smells it. How to mark it his? Only one way.

My vote is to give him the bag and you get your own.

I wonder if the urine-removal products will hurt the down? Our Bibler Gore-Tex tent was "marked" by a racoon (seriously, what??) and the company replied to my inquiry that we'd be fine to use "Nature's Miracle" to clean it, after mere water left some scent behind. That did work, but I wonder if the same product might strip oils from the down.

Consider the bag a total loss. I will be happy to properly dispose of it, I'll even pick it up from your house for no charge.

I've used Nature's Miracle to get rid of cat pee - works good

But, if you hosed it off and you can't smell anything I think there's no need to do anything else
