Is it me or have the last few weeks been really slow loading? Firefox seems to be a bit worse than Chrome but both are slow.

Things seem to have speeded up a bit since I got off to feed my dog and fix my own dinner. Definitely faster than Oregon fauna now!

Ah, It should be in this sub-forum though since it is an issue not a "test"

either way, regardless of what Roger's response was there it's BPL that is slow when other pages are working just fine. he can try to use a lot of IT jargon to push people away but i'm not convinced.

90's infrastructure, 90's server speed, empty home page... are they trying to avoid new users from joining?

Forum is back to normal speed again -- first time in a week or more!! Better late than never, I suppose. Thank you, BPL.

It is, except for when it is not. The response time is still inconsistent. That is another sign that it is server overload and not a congested link to it.

Yep, back to being slow again.

Yeah, it's been really slow for quite some time now -- and then it suddenly speeded up almost to normal last night -- I thought it was a fix -- but alas, no. Now back to slow again.

Is BPL looking into this at all? A response would be appreciated.

It now become the web site with the worst use experience that I am surfing to these days. With such grade of service, it would cause the long term financial problem to the management, so better act faster to solve the problem.

I don't see anyplace on the home page where he lists his public email address. By the same token, I can certainly understand why he doesn't list it. I would be dodging the public also if I managed things like this.

Part of the problem is that the slowness is very inconsistent. It is rather hard to solve a problem if you can't consistently reproduce it. That brings us to the shotgun approach to problem solving.
