MYOG down mummy bag
Finished this up last week for someone. More pictures and construction details here.
Brendan,This bag plus the one you posted 1-2 years ago are both really, really good. I'm going to attempt one myself this winter so I'll probably hit you up with some questions later on if that's cool.Ryan
+1 .... really, REALLY good!I admire your work Brendan.
Thanks for the kind words. Ryan, hit me up with questions anytime.
great job Brendan!!!Thanks for the plans. Not that they will benefit me (exceeding my 10 sec attention span) but I am sure some will be able to take advantage of them.
This inspires me to make a "Bag Topper" for my WM Megalite.A Bag Topper (my term) is a sewn-through top for a mummy bag that Velcros at about six locations to totally cover only the top half of a bag. It adds about 20 F. to the warmth with the least weight. It neeeds to actually cover down along the bag sides as well for better heat retention. With a Bag Topper plus insulated clothes worn inside I figure I can get my (already overfilled) bag down around 0 F. + or -.
