Which is warmer: Montbell U.L. Down Jacket or Arc'Teryx Atom LT? on 11/21/2012 17:03:41 MST Print View

Greetings,

The Montbell UL Down or the Arc'Teryx Atom LT

Curious from those with direct experience, which of the two would be warmer? The LT has 60g primaloft, but only has a thin fleece under the arms and down the sides, which is more ideal for active moments. The montbell has 2oz of 800fp down.

Thanks kindly!
Brad

Seems to me these jackets have very different utility. The Atom is more of an action insulator like a fleece while a down jacket is a passive insulator.

This is the EX Light, but essentially the same jacket as your are asking about.

Atom or Ex Light on 11/22/2012 18:35:51 MST Print View

I have both an atom lt hoody and a MB ExLight. I find they're both similar in warmth. Neither are designed to be super warm. There are much better reasons to choose one over the other. I love them both
