Where'd you dig up info on it? Oware's site seems to be running at a crawl today (keeps timing out for me)

It looks very similar to the pattern Jay Hamm presented to BPL members in his "5 Yards" article.

If you look closely, you will see that the beaks are not sewn on. It appears the catenary ridge and beaks are all shaped by the cut.
