October 26-28 we had our second Midwest GGGG on a cool but clear weekend in Southeastern
Minnesota at Beaver Creek Valley State Park. Six hardy backpackers showed up.
Mary and Joey R, Mark, Josh, Dave, Doug and Winnie the Wonder Dog.
Friday night Josh supplied a meal of pulled pork, barbecue sauce and cole slaw. It was delicious. Mary and Joey arrived at 8:30 PM and some of the crew hung around the campfire until 2:30 AM. Josh might have had a little too much fun. That night the temperature got down to around 24 degrees.
Camp.
The next morning featured an egg bake and since Mary and Joey had to leave by 4 PM we had our steak fry at 2 PM.
After Joey and Mary left the rest of us went for a walk to try and settle all that food. Bed time was much earlier than Friday night. I'm not sure how cold it got but a 7 AM my car thermometer showed 21 degrees.
