If you know how, it can BE done.....

... on Lakes.

The floating line he is referring to is 'nice to have' but I have seen similar post where he was using standard issue fluro.

I wish I had his knowledge set ....

Thanks for the link, I enjoyed reading this as most Tenkara related posts are focused on creek/stream fishing.

That is interesting the line used. Something to think about.
Me and my daughter have just used my standard length and line this summer on alpine lakes, with pretty alright results.

That video is hilarious! Love seeing the master of Tenkara USA himself getting soaked. And good to see he's good natured about it. Time will tell, I guess, if Tenkara will be of any use in ocean coves like this. But on lakes, yes. Works nicely under certain conditions. Most of my luck has been had by wading out a bit into the lake (I haven't tried Tenkara in a canoe yet).

Thanks for the great info, it's nice to see some growth toward the flat water side of reel-less fishing.

Big Brown

From an alpine lake: Details are Here (This is NOT my fish.)

But having just spent a few days on some great tail waters, I can tell you that the TenkaraUSA Amago is quite capable of handling fat 16"s and 18"s in fast water as well.
