Eagle Rock Loop Hike Planned on 09/17/2012 13:16:16 MDT Print View

BPL Members,

If anyone is interested in a hike in Arkansas's Ouachita National Forest on October 22-24, we will be on Eagle Rock Loop. PM me if interested.

Its a good hike.

Watch the Little Missouri @ Langley water level closely, under 4' your good. Over that, it may be not passable.

In dicey weather start at the L. Missouri trailhead on 106 and get the deep crossings out of the way 1st clockwise, that way you have less chance of getting trapped by rain later

Thanks, it is a great loop; I've done it several times, but I'm taking a group out there to introduce them to backpacking.

I like newbies reactions to the ABF...., it lets them know hiking isnt just a stroll in the woods with a pack.

Nothing like it to make them think they really , really need to keep pack light.

Have a good trip!
