If you have rotation issues with Ti needle stakes, check out the ones from Lawson Equipment.
http://lawsonequipment.com/All-Products/Ti-Hook-Stakes-p883.html They've got a more severe bend on the hook, and they don't rotate like most.
I use aluminum y-stakes most of the time. Ti needles are lighter, but the aluminum Y stakes are a lot more versatile most of the time. I've never really had a catastrophic problem with Ti needles when I do take them out, I just really prefer the safer feeling y-stakes. Bringing 2 or 4 y-stakes for important points and Ti to fill out the rest of the guylines is a pretty good option, too.
