Anybody remember the "Trailside: Make Your Own Adventure" programs by Backpacker Magazine? I used to watch them on my local PBS station. Wish they'd put them on DVDs; I've only been able to find them on VHS tapes. They were fun to watch and it was nice to see something like that on TV.

Those were pretty cool.

The two part Appalachian Trail one certainly helped to fuel my desire to do the AT. And, by extension, help put me on the path that my life has followed.

The follow up series, "Anyplace Wild", was also pretty good.

Hi Paul - Yep, that was really well-done. I enjoyed getting all the different participants' experiences and points of view. Wish they or someone else would do some more programs like that.
