On Saturday, August 25th, 2012 I set out on the Haute Route from Le Tour, France with my friends Jeff and Ryan, intending to walk in to Zermatt the following weekend. Unfortunately, poor weather arrived the evening of the 29th and was forecasted to stay through Sunday and bring almost one meter of new snow to the mountains so we called it quits knowing we could finish the last two stages another time. All five days were incredible and we enjoyed spending five full days in the heart of the incredible Alps alpine backcountry.
