Used HMG Windrider 3400, medium pack/medium hipbelt w/pockets. This is the newer version with the wraparound hipbelt. Used on one week-long Sierra hike. Dirty, but good condition. One small hole on bottom of pack where the grommet fell out (the hole is built into the pack, and 'houses' a grommet, usually). Correct, this is the stock pack. The modified pack replaced it.

You sure there was a grommet for the hole? Mine didn't have one.

Yup. I'm sure. But I'll give a better explanation.

The outside mesh pocket on the back has a small cuben 'lip' at the bottom. The hole with grommet is in that cuben piece, to allow the bottom of the mesh pocket to drain. On this pack, the hole is still there, but the grommet has fallen out. Easy enough to replace with the proper sized grommet, I would think.
