Controversial subjects on 08/15/2012 19:37:45 MDT Print View

Guns
Hunting
Dogs
Campfires
Specifically (and only) on this forum, toilet paper (less so since Mike C! unfortunately appears to have left us)
As I recently found out (on another forum), water treatment
Evidently, the latest controversial subject is BPL membership

Surprisingly, the Romney/Ryan thread has far less acrimony than what's on some of these others!

Let's not forget.. right from the forum index page.

Everything that has someone who has an opinion on it here is controversial.

Let's read it one more time to make sure you understand it.

The name calling is lame.

I support:

Responsible Dog owners
Good science
Self-reliance
Universal health care
Social security
Oral hygiene
The Carbon Flame war
Other folks right to hunt
Other's right to religious beliefs that don't impact me
Gay Marriage

But I no longer financially support BPL, pretty much for the same reasons as the OP

Not dead, I assume, but evidently no longer posting on or writing for BPL. His last post was 5 months ago. Too bad, I always enjoyed his comments on gear lists even though I disagree with his "no TP" stance.

Since the old thread ran it's course, I though I'd parody the topic.

Seriously, since I'm sitting down at most of the day, my fitness level has dropped dramatically. I took a hike last week and it was a sad thing.

Yeah I don't like the ratio of hard work to get in shape takes much more effort and time, where as getting out of shape and gaining a few pounds(or more) seems like overnight.

I've seen his name a few times in Backpacker magazine. Now working for the 'man'?

Damn that evolution. Our bodies are prepared to store up in times of plenty for when things get lean. If only natural selection could have foreseen the dawn of computers and cubicles. Seriously, that's the best argument against an intelligent designer I can think of.
