Big Agnes will be releasing an SL (super light) version of their Air Core and Q-Core pads. The Air Core SL will be available in both rectangular and mummy shapes, the regular length mummy weighing in at 14 oz - a weight savings of 4 oz over the non SL version. The current product sheets indicate that it will not be available in shorter lengths. It is constructed out of what they are calling a "superlight nylon ripstop" on both the top and bottom, and will also have an internal heat reflective polyurethane coating (although it is still rated at the same temperature of 35F/2C). Big agnes has gone away from the full length tubes of the non SL version and moved to a diagonal fishbone style pattern - perhaps for more comfort, but we can only speculate on that.

The Q-Core SL (rated for 15F/-9C) will also be available in both rectangular and mummy versions. While details on this particular model are sketchy at this point, we do know the regular length rectangular version will weigh approximately 18oz (a weight savings of 9oz over the non SL version). As with the Air Core SL, the Q-Core SL will also use the same superlight nylon ripstop and heat reflective coating.

This design looks much more stable and comfy, think neoair with horizontail baffles.

The question is, will the q-core sl come in a mummy?

I see the rectangular version is out, but can not find specs on the mummy.
