Easton Ultralight Carbon 3 poles

Easton is releasing a new carbon trekking pole called the Ultralight Carbon 3. The Ultralight Carbon 3 is a three section, twist-lock pole weighing in at a claimed 12.8 oz. The default version comes with small trekking baskets, and apparently a winter basket will also be available. One caveat with the baskets is that in order to change them out, the tip of the pole will need to be dipped in boiling water to loosen it up.

Assuming that 12.8oz for the set (and not per pole) these looks like nice poles.

I fell asleep at the trailhead a few days ago waiting for my wife's pick up. She arrived and I got in the car in a sleep deprived stupor and left my new BD Alpine Carbon Cork poles at the trailhead. Super bummer made even worse by the fact that I had swapped in one lower section of my wife's GG LT4 poles to allow the pole to extend longer for use with my DuoMid. So now both our poles are out of commission.

Yes, that weight is for the pair.

Bummer about losing your poles! I have a pair of those BDs too and quite like them, although I primarily just use poles in winter.

Dan
Nevermind that, think of the poor sod that will pick them up only to find out they don't have the original bits.

Maybe I can find them on Craigslist and low ball him since they don't have all the right bits :)
