Patagonia has joined the lightweight trail footwear market with a new shoe targeted at ultra runners, but potentially of high interest for ultralight backpackers. Weighing in at 7.8 oz for men and 6.2 oz for women, the EVERmore is the lightest trail shoe in the Patagonia line. Minimalist footwear enthusiasts will appreciate the wide anatomic toebox and the 4mm drop. With 10mm of cushioning in the heel, 6mm of cushioning in the forefoot, and a semi-rigid rock plate they offer a moderate amount of protection. They have quick draining and drying mesh uppers and a moderately lugged sole. What remains to be seen is how well the rubber compound will perform with regards to durability and wet rock.
