I had some friends who owned Limpy's skateboard pants and shorts they would go to the garment district to buy cheap funky fabric in large bolts or rolls for the pants they made.
I was was just looking at Noah Lamport web site it's in Huntington park about 10 miles east of the Garment district.
If you want to find a great outdoor nylon webbing and hardware warehouse. I use to purchase from and pick up my stuff at is John Howard Company in Chino, Ca about 35 miles east of Los Angeles in Chino ,Ca.
I still have more success with online/mail order shops I have used Outdoor wilderness fabric since 1990 when they ran ads in backpacker magazine they have great service.
Second place goes to Rocky woods and they listen to us and get fabric like Xpac for our needs plus great service.
Quest fabric is third place next in having what I need and great service.
The grand prize goes to Thru Hiker and Paul getting the ultralight Dyneema X Gridstop fabric we want and Momentum 50 fabric and also making ultra light kits for clothes and quilts.
The worst fabric store is:
I Seattle Fabric once and never again after it took a very slow service to ship some hardware and webbing after I called them and I got mad at very rude lady. They charged me a $4.00 handling fee on top of shipping also.
It's really to bad they don't hire nicer people to work their and more staff fro faster shipping and get rid of the $4.00 handling fee. They have some really great outdoor fabrics and other notions we need.
