Who all is making custom sleeping bags (not quilts), stateside or abroad?
I'm aware of Zpacks, FF, and Nunatak. Who else is there....that's reputable? Not interested in a quilt but am interested in a custom hoodless bag. Thanks!
PHD in UK: http://www.phdesigns.co.uk/Goosefeet has made some custom quilts--he might do a bag if you ask.
For what it's worth, I had a custom quilt made by Ben at Goose Feet and it's ridiculously amazing. It's worth going through a small, quality cottage because you can get a bag exactly how you want it—measurements, down, baffles, zipper length, etc.
Down Works. What about having a hooded bag chopped down?
Rusty - I see you know about Zpacks - Joe is great to deal with and his products are super quality (I have his Hexamid tarp and bug inner, rain jacket and pack liner). My next sleeping bag will be his (I currently use Western Mountaineering Highlite).
I believe Western Mountaineering will do custom stuff as well, for an upcharge of course.
Feathered Friends !!!!They are based out of Seattle and make all of their stuff right there. I had them add a built in pillow sack into my bag.. Choose from colors, over stffing options, etc.Super helpful
if it can be done with a down bag, they can do it and probably have done it before.
Thanks, all! I had forgotten about Down Works. Though in business since 1974, I rarely see them mentioned. Can anyone vouch for them?Re WM, I spoke with them at Outdoor Retailer. The only custom stuff they do is overfills and expanders...in case someone plumps up a little too much over the holidays.
