Haven't got to test it yet, but I like it. I'd suggest carrying it in all 1/4" sizes up to 1".

1/16" could be done.. I am not sure how durable it would be though.

I would be use a 1/16 as a frame for my GG Murmur, a ground sheet for setting up my gear, and a groundsheet underneath my sleeping pad (or inside DL hammock) in mild conditions. Probably wouldn't take it below 45. There are many other uses aside from what I would use it for but they would probably decrease the pads lifespan like you say (such as a sit pad). I think it would be great though. :)

I'd buy one of those.

If you made a 36" long and 1/4" thick pad I'd buy that for my dog! hah :D
At that token I could just cut up a full length 1/4" if you offered those.

Anyhow, the 1/8" is solid so far. I used it out one night with a low of about 47f. Kept me comfortable as the bottom insulating layer in my hammock with just a top quilt and shorts/shirt.

You should make a 1/16 in pad in torso length, slightly more narrow than the other pads. I'm talking 40 cm x 70 cm x .16 cm. Based on the available pad's stats, this pad would weigh around 0.55 oz, which would be the coolest thing ever. Gotta have bragging rights for "lightest pad on the market", and knock the socks off of any competition. The r-value probably wouldn't even suck very much, at about .4 or so.

But what I'm really interested in is the winter thickness sleeping pad. I want something to layer under a GG Nightlight which will give me a combined R-value of 5 or better. That would mean an Evarest pad with an R value of 3, or approximately .5 in thick. I would be very much excited to see a thicker pad though, and would probably buy the thickest available.

Is there any chance for a 3/4'' torso length convoluted pad like the GG Nightlight?

Lawson, I know you probably can't stock this material in every thickness, but are you still considering 1"? That would be ideal for me. If not, I'll buy two of the 1/2" pads and stack them.

I'd go for a 1/2" for now and probably get a 1/4" a bit later.

I'm in for a 1/4". Honestly I'd prefer a 3/8 over a 1/2. R-Value of 2.25 matches well with an R2-3 pad for 4-season (neoair/self-inflate/GG nightlight). I'd rather use a nightlight for the weight to fill out extra cushion in the key areas (lower back/shoulder/legs).

Like the title says, how do you you it?

It comes in 25in width, do you trim it, do you put in in your pack, how, why?

I use a 50" length as a protection for my inflatable pad at night. During the day I fold it to 10" and use it with my tarptent poles as a stay for my MLD prophet backpack. It also does a great job at keeping my from sliding on a silnylon floor.

Put me down for a 1/2" pad.

How much volume does that pad take up?

I have more sleeping pads coming instock very soon. I should know an instock and ship date by tomorrow. I will be adding 1/4" and 1/2" at the same time. Also the mini jars will be back instock next week..

With that said, is there any interest in a super thin highly durable insulated foam ground sheets? You know in a few sizes for your sleeping pad, bivy, and tent.. I found a foam that has a skin, r rating of .187-.375 depending on thickness, decently lightweight, and very durable. Basically its the stuff they use to make foam gaskets out of. The R.187 sheet would be .0312" (1/32") and weigh 1.44oz sq yard which is lighter then tyvek at 1.60oz sq yard. The R.375 stuff would be double that at .0625" (1/16") 2.88oz sq yard which would be equal to a very good quality 70D PU/Silicone Coated Nylon or an uncoated 200d oxford nylon. I look forward to peoples thoughts on this..

The idea of a lightweight insulated ground sheet sounds good, but I'd be concerned mostly about the bulk of it. I have a polycro groundsheet that folds up and I keep it in a sandwich ziplock...

Would you have to roll the gasket material or could it be folded multiple times without cracking or tearing? You might find that your market for this product is people who use CCF pads because they're already rolling them.
