Hi All

Again, just noticed this on Outdoorsmagic:

Interestingly they're quoting 138 grams now instead of 143.

I am very seriously considering buying the Montane Minimus smock. It looks ideal for long distance/ultra runs and light weight backpacking. My only concern is that I don't know if I can get away with a smock vs a full zip, and the lack of a hood peak. I know I could get both of these things with the Montane Minimus Jacket, but then I am gaining 100g or so. Decisions, decisions.

Just curious if anyone has used the Montane Minimus Smock and if so, what are your thoughts on it?

I'm still in the process of testing this so I can't provide a full review just yet. It's very light - weighs 5oz. per my scale. Pertex feels good against the skin and works really well as a wind breaker.

However, I do have some opinions about it's breathability especially when actively hiking or biking. I haven't tested how waterproof it is yet since we don't get much rain here in SoCal.

One thing to note, when purchasing this, I would suggest going a plus size larger. I have the large and it's a tight fit...meaning it would be difficult to wear on top of a puffy.
