Just what we should do-- make a fuss, lots of noise, make yourself a hassle rather than a meal, but don't run. I guess the coyote "knew" that running was a bad idea.

I saw a coyote in the Seattle suburbs the other day in broad daylight--- keeps the cat population down! I've seen them hunting in forested freeway medians, ears up, listening for rodents and pouncing.
