To view in your web browser:

www.mappingsupport.com/p/gmap4.html
www.postholer.com
www.openstreetmap.org

To view in a program on your computer or load onto your gps:

Garmin Basecamp -- www.gpsfiledepot.com
There's one other place that lets you select an area to download the map for, but I've lost the link. Hopefully someone else knows it.

I print my own custom ones using this site - http://mapper.acme.com/

You can add your own waypoints and print a small section of it.

To download, www.libremap.org or
http://store.usgs.gov/b2c_usgs/usgs/maplocator/%28ctype=areaDetails&xcm=r3standardpitrex_prd&carea=$ROOT&layout=6_1_61_48&uiarea=2%29/.do

To view online, probably the best is
www.arcgis.com/explorer/?open=931d892ac7a843d7ba29d085e0433465

or www.hillmap.com

A recent map I made in arcgis is http://tinyurl.com/cg286to

gmap4 and caltopo are both great but you can't (at least I haven't been able to figure out how) print in high enough resolution, so I usually use hillmap. The only thing missing from hillmap is the ability to add UTM grids. Excellent site, though.

If you use Firefox then you can print Gmap4 maps as follows:

1. Click File ==> Print preview
2. Use the controls that appear at the top of the screen and (A) pick landscape and (B) adjust the scale
3. Click print
