WTB: 9" GSI frying pan on 06/28/2012 14:17:57 MDT Print View

I am hoping to fry up some trout on an upcoming alpine trip and from other posts here it sounds like GSI makes a nice fry pan. I have GSI pots but no fry pan and buying an entire kit to get the fry pan does not suit my budget. Anyone?

MSR FLEX Skillet on 06/29/2012 10:17:24 MDT Print View

If you are not set on the GSI, you might want to look at the MSR FLEX Skillet also. I recently picked one up locally locally for $25. It weighs 7oz, has a folding handle, is non-stick, and it is available all by itself.

So far I like it alot.

REI has the MSR Blacklight fry pan on sale for $10. 7.25" and reported 5.4oz. You'll need a handle to go with or improvise.

Great tips on 06/29/2012 14:52:24 MDT Print View

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Just bought the MSR Flex. Looks with a nice size frying pan, 9", w/o too much of a weight penalty (7 oz) for a good price: $30 at REI. Appreciate the help!

What if the fish is too big for the pan?

We should all have such a problem.
