They totally lost me at the "I din't realise it would be that hard to set up a tent..." comment.
They used 2 Tarptent Squall. How difficult can that be ?
Next time , just pay for me to be the tent consultant and I will show them how to set it up in 2 minutes or less.
I travel second class .
Qantas or Virgin Atlantic.
(it has potential...)
I should have finished that, It has potential as a teen flick.

What dirt? Way too clean to be thru-hikers! Is this some film student's senior project? Sorry, but while the video shown is fine in terms of photography, the plot just seems way too cheesy (sorry, your words!) to be taken seriously!

This is 'Long way Around' for the distance hiker crowd.

Two thumbs down.

Have any of the above commenters actually seen the movie? I think I'll wait to see a review from someone who's seen more than the trailer before I decide if it's worth my time.

The point of a trailer is to make you want to see the film. If it can't do that what makes you think the film will?

Very young on 06/05/2012 20:56:53 MDT Print View

These appear to be very young people. The AT seems to have a lot of younger folks new to the hiking world.
Yea the drama seems a bit over the top judging by the clip.
That being said even older folks like myself have a bit of drama now and then and i am not ashamed to say i have even shed tears while on my long hikes.
What i find interesting in this video clip is that it appears address the drama issue associated with hiking as a group.
Actually I was a bit clingy for the first few weeks of my first thru hike.
It took time to find my own "stride".
Later i went totally "lone wolf" and had troubles being in a group.
This stuff really happens out there the same as it does back here.
It could be all staged for the camera.. i cannot judge from this short clip, but that one shot of the young lady crying talking about being "alone out here"... that is one of the most potent feelings you can have on a thru hike. Being alone can be both the greatest fear and greatest freedom at the same time.
I would be interested to see the rest of this movie if only to see how the dynamics are portrayed.
Emotions really are overwhelming on a long hike as you have all the time in the world to dwell on them whether they are negative or positive.
I withhold judgement pending a full viewing of this film.

G2M Tour on 07/10/2012 23:32:22 MDT Print View

Hey All,

I googled my film and this threat popped up. Thanks for posting! Looks like my trailer is doing what I wanted it to...

You all might find this to be an interesting read:

I'm sorry I didn't find this sooner because we have almost completed our G2M Film Tour. In order to create buzz around my film I launched a 35-venue film tour from Georgia to Maine (hence G2M) this summer and we're already in Massachusetts. Upcoming screenings are listed here: More videos here:

We've got reviews from the Chicago Tribune, Philadelphia Inquirer, etc. but Dusty's is still my favorite:

His Q&A also answers some lingering questions from your thread:

Alexis also did a great job of explaining the making of BBtD:

DVD not yet available, but it will be. And will have a ridiculous amount of extra footage. Facebook/Twitter can give you the updates on that. As well as our newsletter.

I look forward to reading more of your comments,

Ringleader Kate
