Does anyone have any experience carrying a bearikade weekender in the new 2012 Gorilla? I currently have a circuit but I would like to slim down if possible.

I have a 2012 Gorilla, but have not carried it with a Bearikade yet. I wonder if you could sling where the bungie compression systems meet over the top of the pack as opposed to in front, and secure the Bearikade under the bungie.

I'm positive it could fit vertically in the pack, as it could on the older Gorilla.

I use the older Gorilla and Bearikade Scout with no problem. Put it in the pack and load up the rest of the gear around it.

the weekender will fit in the new gorilla vertically. It's a tight fit. The edges of the pack pull away from the back slightly since the bearicade is a bit larger in diameter than the gorilla is deep. Doing this worked fine in the original gorilla (have many hundreds of miles with the old gorilla and weekender), and was fine on the two trips it's gone on with the new gorilla. In theory, it could go outside the pack, under the lid… but I haven't tried that.

I bet the folks at GG know the answer right off. People probably ask often enough.

I do know that at Bearikade Expedition fits vertically in a Mariposa Plus with plenty of room for the rest of my gear.

I wrote GG earlier today and they said that it fit in the old gorlla but that it was so new there hasn't been much feedback in regards to how the weekender carries in the 2012 gorilla.
