I'm reading a book by Steven Jacobi, Laughing Matters. Towards (or back at) the start he explains how one of his Grandfathers , who happened to be an SS officer, had a good sense of humour however the other, an Englishman, didn't have one at all. From the humorless one : "Take the Marx Bros for example "Oh, I'm sick of messages from the front. Don't we ever get a message from the side? - What is it?'
That is about the war for goodness sake! what's funny about that ? "
Yes , indeed... . Franco (that was a Groucho line from Duck Soup)
